AMP is NOW HIRING an HR Payroll Assistant for a community college in McAllen, TX!

The Human Resources Payroll Specialist is responsible for all monthly and semi-monthly payroll-related tasks, including collecting and reviewing employee information, creating and entering employee payments for processing, and maintaining accurate payroll records.  The Human Resources Payroll Specialist investigates and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with college and regulatory standards.

Job Duties:

  • Investigates and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with college and regulatory standards.
  • Processes full-time employee payroll:  Faculty, Staff, Lecturers and Full-time Temporary.
  • Processes wage garnishments as ordered by a Federal or State legal statute.
  • Sets up and processes employee direct deposit information.
  • Processes W-4 forms and enters data in Banner system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must have access to a remote working site that is safe and free from interruptions, and equipment and a reliable Internet connection sufficient to perform job duties remotely as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in payroll, in a higher education institution, preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of experience with an enterprise system; e.g. Banner Human Resources/Payroll, preferred.
